Social Spinning / Weaving  events

A friendly, collaborative session where members bring along their current projects—or something new they’d like to begin—and work in a relaxed, social setting. It’s a chance to make progress on individual pieces while enjoying company, conversation, and, when needed, guidance or practical help from fellow members.

Guild Day events typically bring together two or three of these elements:

• A presentation – for example, a talk focusing on a particular aspect of hand weaving, dyeing, spinning, or a related craft.
• Social spinning / weaving – time for members to work on their projects in a relaxed, communal setting.
• A practical workshop – introducing a new skill, technique, or process for members to try.

Dyeing workshop events

A focused, hands‑on session exploring a particular area of dyeing, using both commercial and natural dyes. Each workshop is tailored to a specific technique or theme, and because dyeing involves specialist materials, equipment, and careful handling, places are limited to ensure a safe, well‑supervised environment.

Demonstration events

Across the year, the Guild gives demonstrations throughout Gloucestershire to showcase spinning, hand weaving, and dyeing. These events offer a welcoming chance to see the crafts in action, learn more about what we do, and chat with members who are happy to share their knowledge and enthusiasm.
